Aviance Smith is an LPC Associate supervised by Dr. Katrina Landry, PhD, LPC-S. Aviance has a master’s degree in counseling from Lamar University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston-Downtown. A Houston native, she enjoys helping people from different backgrounds and ages and works with clients to reach common goals and treatment plans they are comfortable with. Aviance’s educational training in both private practice and outpatient facility provides her with experience helping clients move through life challenges. She is a Mental Health First Aid certified from the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD and utilizes an eclectic counseling method, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients with concerns like depression, grief and adjusting to life stressors.

Aviance is a versatile reader, enjoys listening to a variety of genres of music. She enjoys traveling, and believes there is something positive that can be learned from life situations.
