Catherine Trinh, MS, LPC

Catherine Trinh is a Licensed Professional Counselor  licensed in the state of Texas.  She holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University.

At Monarch School and Institute she provided supervised counseling services for adults with neurological disabilities in an educational setting.  She enjoys working with adults with special needs and neurological differences.  She has also served at Family Time Crisis and Counseling Center where she provided supervised counseling services, from children to elderly individuals experiencing trauma or crisis in an underserved rural community.  Additionally, she has experience at Kingwood Pines Hospital providing psychological assessments, treatment planning and intervention, and clinical programming for patients and families.

Prior to her master's program, she had a medical background working for a family practitioner in Cypress, Texas.  She also volunteered at Methodist Hospital in the Medical Center to aid patients in the long-term intensive care unit.  At Victorium Clinical Research, she was a clinical research assistant conducting protocols and clinical trials with innovative medicine and technology at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

She believes that every experience is an opportunity for learning that continually develops throughout a lifespan.  Her focus is on the development of coping strategies to target problem solving and changing unhelpful patterns in cognition (thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes), behaviors, and emotional regulation. Catherine also finds personal development imperative to mental health wellness.  Her work also considers cultural context and addresses concerns of multidimensional factors that impact development.

As a counselor, she believes that she can help clients develop the tools they need to live their life wholly.  She is passionate about the concerns of others and their quality of life. Therapy will help develop self-awareness, genuineness, responsibility, and the understanding of interpersonal relationships.
